Dive into the world of marine biodiversity like never before at AIRSIDE's new immersive exhibition, BLUTOPIA. Conceptualised as the world's first digital art aquarium, the local non-profit organisation A.L.A.N (Artists Who Love Animals and Nature) collaborates with 12 creative units from around the world, combines immersive environmental art with interactive exhibits to create a multisensory art experience based on marine ecology. This unique exhibition intertwines art, science, technology, and education, navigating the depths of ocean life in a way that's both enlightening and entertaining.
BLUTOPIA is divided into two parts: a large-scale multimedia exhibition at the GATE33 Gallery and an educational venue at L216. At the GATE33 Gallery, visitors will journey through different ocean zones, each distinguished by the extent of sunlight penetration. Starting with the ‘Sunlight Zone’, the exhibit then transitions into the ‘Twilight Zone’ before culminating in an immersive ‘Deep Ocean’ exploration.
The exhibition includes mesmerizing artworks like 'SYMPHILIA', a large-scale coral reef installation that fuses Mixed Reality (MR) with the art of Crochet by Indonesian artist Mulyana, highlighting the mutual symbiotic relationships present in the ocean. Don't miss the ‘COLOURFUL JELLIES', a giant interactive light installation that simulates the dazzling light emitted by jellyfish when sensing proximity of other species. You're also invited to unleash your creativity with German artist Philipp Artus’ immersive interactive installation, 'AQUATICS', to create entirely new species of deep-sea creatures! Also featured are the large-scale sound installation ‘SONG FROM THE DEEP’ by local composer Daniel Lo and sound designer Lawrence Lau, as well as the Cyberpunk-infused work ‘BLUTOPIA’ by digital visual artist Desmond Lo.
The "HIDDEN" exhibition at L216 unveils the intriguing aspects of underwater life.We sincerely invite everyone to immerse themselves in the pulsating light and shadow brought by digital art, experience the beautiful, diverse, and fragile marine ecology, and awaken your heart to the protection of the ocean.
Register on NF Touch for free admission to BLUTOPIA. A limited number of spots are available for on-site registration (until full).
