Slow Living Forest Weaving is a participatory interactive project that combines weaving with nature as part of the Emotion Weaving Research Society's artistic initiatives. The two-part outdoor workshop, led by artist and registered expressive arts therapist Jiang Zhuozi and farmer and registered horticultural therapist Zhou Minqiang, invites you to explore the healing power of nature in Mui Wo.
Have you ever walked aimlessly in nature? Give yourself an afternoon to wander in the countryside of Lantau Island, gazing at the blue sky, finding a stable tree to sit silently beneath, or discovering wild grass growing between stones.
As the year comes to a close, take time to settle down in nature. Collect different natural items along the way that represent what you want to let go of this year, and weave them together to count the gifts you encountered.
As the new year approaches, let’s embrace nature and feel the warmth of the earth and the whispers of plants. Join us at Zhou Minqiang's grassland farm in Mui Wo to discover the gifts nature offers us—various local plants.
While learning about planting, this is also an opportunity to learn to care for yourself. Every plant carries a blessing, and every inch of land holds a story. Dance with the plants using your hands and weave a unique shimekazari (Japanese sacred rope), connecting nature’s blessings closely with yourself for the new year.
